No April Fool's Day!

Caribbean Community in Philadelphia is a partner with Keystone Counts PA. We are joining on Monday, April 1st to lock arms with law makers and declare our presence, significance and contribution to the city of Philadelphia and the state of Pennsylvania.

Monday, April 1st, 2019 is a day designated to reach legislators by signing the link below (only name, address and email).

This is particularly important for All People of Color, who are oftern undercounted and marginalized communities, like immigrants. We need all monies coming to Philadelphia and Pennsylvania for Healthcare, Transportation, Housing, Child Welfare, Nutrition, Education, Streets, Community Needs, etc Our communities of color are often under represented with an inaccurate count of all residents in Philly and PA.

Yet, we as a Caribbean people exist in great numbers! Our Caribbean Flags are displayed on the Parkway, and we make up the diverse and multicultural Global Philadelphia residents. We contribute greatly to the city and we need to be counted in with our voices.

We are Afro-Caribbean, Indo-Caribbean and much more as sub-cultural groups of the Caribbean. We are English, Spanish, French, Dutch, Kreyol, patois speaking and much more.

Battled in the Courts: Since 1950, the US Citizenship question has not been asked. The Trump Administration introduced it against the recommendation of the Census Bureau. Over 2 dozen states and cities, groups and organizations have filed 6 lawsuits against the Trump Administration taking it to trial, with expectancy it will go all the way up to the Supreme Courts.

This citizenship question is proven to bring intimidation to our immigrant communities and create lack of participation, fear and undercounting for essential services needed for All Philadelphians.
